UON is HEI established by an Act in 1970 and later revised 1985 with the legal mandate to provide higher education at undergraduate, masters and doctoral degrees. UON has student population of about 57,000 of which about 9,500 are masters students and approximately 600 are doctoral students.

For this particular project under the Intra-ACP Academic mobility scheme, UON has the following aims in line with the Call for proposal: 1). Offer high quality academic programmes for master‘s, doctoral and staff mobility within the consortium (TG1) and for other candidates from non participating target countries (TG2) to assist in building human capacity 2).
